RISE East Bay is a subsidiary of RISE Education System, a 501(c)(3) non-profit educational organization that is accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC) and Cognia. It is the mission of RISE East Bay to promote the holistic development of the child through an authentic and experiential student learning experience. This is accomplished by educating the child in the formation of faith, family, and community. RISE East Bay strives for the development of the whole child by providing excellence in academic preparation in a faith-based environment. It is the vision of RISE East Bay to guide and nurture students to become role models who will exhibit high levels of God-consciousness, professional excellence and civic leadership by serving society at large.

Early Childhood

Admin Application

Responsibilities Include:

  • Establishing and maintaining a safe and healthy environment
  • Working effectively and cooperatively with director, teachers, other site staff, and community partners
  • Ensuring the day-to-day activities of the school run smoothly
  • Overlooking and managing the enrollment of students
  • Ensuring the facility meets local governmental requirements, such as teacher-to-student ratios and facility inspections 
  • Assisting with curriculum selection, policy outlines, and conflicts among teachers 
  • Create flyers and weekly newsletters to effectively communicate with all stakeholders
  • Answering inquiries and parent concerns
  • Working effectively with parents and volunteers
  • Providing regular update to supervisors
  • Managing budget, supply ordering, schedules, and attendance records
  • Creating training opportunities for staff 
  • Ensuring that all classrooms and other school spaces are clean and orderly

Required Skills/Qualities:

  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Child Development Site Supervisor or Program Director Permit or equivalent (at least 15 units of early childhood education required)
  • Five years of child care center experience (Bachelor’s degree or more than 10 years of experience preferred)
  • Knowledge of child development and state child care laws, health and safety codes, and regulations, including Title 22 regulations
  • Fingerprint clearance
  • Strong leadership, management, and interpersonal skills
  • Highly organized and attentive to detail
  • Able to multitask and thrive in a fast paced environment
  • Ability to communicate effectively with others and work collaboratively
  • Technologically savvy and quick at learning new tools and software
  • Ability to work with various forms of equipment including, but not limited to, personal computers/laptops, projectors, and printers
  • Ability to work with various computer applications, including but not limited to, Google Gsuite, word processors, and spreadsheets

Early Childhood Teacher

Responsibilities Include:

  • Establishing and maintaining a safe and healthy environment
  • Providing a balance between child-initiated and teacher-initiated activities
  • Using equipment and materials for indoor and outdoor play that promote children’s physical development
  • Providing integrated lesson plans on a weekly basis that meet the needs of individual children
  • Planning and implementing hands-on activities that develop positive self-esteem, social skills, a strong Islamic identity, and culturally diverse experiences
  • Establishing routines with smooth transition periods
  • Establishing positive and productive relationships with families
  • Promoting communication with parents through weekly progress notes, a monthly newsletter, and semi-annual parent conferences
  • Incorporating a variety of ways that families and parents can participate in the program
  • Coordinating and supervising aides, assistants, and volunteers working in the classroom
  • Assessing children’s needs and developmental progress on an ongoing basis
  • Promoting the school’s mission, vision, and educational objectives
  • Engaging in ongoing staff development to improve personal and professional skills
  • Supporting the professional growth and development of colleagues by sharing materials and information and providing helpful feedback and encouragement
  • Attending staff meetings, workshops, and in-service training 

 

Required Skills/Qualities:

  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • 12 units completed in ECE; Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • Previous experience as an ECE Teacher in a licensed preschool or early development center
  • Fingerprint clearance
  • Ability to effectively manage a classroom and student behavior
  • Ability to communicate effectively with others
  • Skill in modifying instruction for various student needs
  • Ability to work with various forms of equipment including, but not limited to, personal computers, calculators, projectors, and printers
  • Ability to work with computer tools, including but not limited to, email, internet, word processing and spreadsheets
  • Ability to work in collaborative team-based environments
